test: Fix intermittent issues in feature_assumevalid.py
What changed, and why it matters
This commit fixes timing-related flakiness in a single Bitcoin Core functional test file. It does not change any production node code, network rules, or wallet behavior. There is no security issue in the software itself—only a more reliable way of running an existing test.
No security action needed. Treat as a normal test reliability improvement.
Security signals we found
No strong security signals were identified.
Evidence from the diff
The patch refactors test/functional/feature_assumevalid.py to eliminate an intermittent helper (send_blocks_until_disconnected) and replace broad wait_until loops with explicit, deterministic P2P synchronization: send_and_ping, send_without_ping with bounded ranges, wait_for_disconnect, and direct assertions on getblockcount/getchaintips. The test coverage for assumevalid behavior is preserved; only the test harness interaction is made more robust.
